Founded by Steven & Susan Atlas in 1976, The Frame Maker, began as a small frame shop in National City. As the business grew moved from National City to San Diego proper. The business relocated to its current location in Mission Hills in 1999. Steve forged many successful relationships among skilled artisans, dynamic manufacturers, talented designers and exciting artists in San Diego. Steve officially retired in 2018 and after a battle with Alzheimer’s passed in 2023.
